I have heard of romaine lettuce (which is in my tank right now), zucchini, spinach and brussel sprouts. I have also heard of green peas (without the shell) and broccoli also.

Has anyone else had any luck with some other type of vegetables? Some of my otos are looking pale and losing their color/stripe, they don't really go for the algae wafers, so I thought maybe some blanched veggies would be best.

Any green leafy veggies are a good bet, as are any types of squash such as zucchini, yellow squash, butternut or any other including pumpkin.

Watch your water quality very carefully as Otos are quite sensitive to anything but the best of water conditions and that could be the cause of the lose of color.

Many of the Florida fish farmers use sweet potatoes on their otocinclus.

cucumbers -- and any lettuce is fine -- like endive or escarole. basil and parsley work too.
