Yes. June is the official gay, lesbian, transgendered pride month. June was chosen as the official gay, lesbian, transgendered pride month because on June 28,1969 tensions between New York's gay community and the police errupted in riots. This single event was the start of the gay rights movement, not just in the United States, but around the world.

June is typically the month for celebrating Gay Pride in most cities. This is because it is the anniversary month of the Stonewall Riots in New York City on June 27th, 1969. (See site below for more info on Stonewall.)
However, the weather in June is not conducive to celebration in some locals where it can be too rainy or too hot. As a result, some cities do celebrate earlier in the year or, more typically, in the Autumn.

yes it was. week before last was Pride weekend in St. Louis. we had a blast with all of our friends!
