Harry is the only one who can kill Voldemort. The prophecy sais: "...either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives... " , which means that Harry is going to kill or be killed... My oppinion is that he is going to kill Voldemort.
Also, he can not be a Horocrux, because that would mean that part of Voldemort's sole is in him, and that would lead to the conclusion that Harry MUST be alive for Voldemort to live. Also, if Harry would sacrifice himself to kill Voldemort, they would BOTH die, and that is, also, the opposite of what the prophecy sais.
We have already seen that the prophecy did come true, for it sais: "...and the Dark Lord will mark him as his equal...". Voldemort MARKED Harry (when he tried to kill him and left him a scar), not Nevile, so Nevile can not be the one who will kill Voldemort... That, again leads us to the conclusion that Harry will be the one who will kill him. Or he will kill Harry, and my oppinion is that it won't happen, because that would mean that the whole world is in danger, everybody's gonna die, and all the books before this one would make no sence... Don't you think?

My first idea was that Harry will have to die in order for Voldemort to because I think Harry is a horcrux if you can remember what they are from the last book. I hope Ron and Hermione get together and I think that the last ever chapter will link to the first chapter in the first book.

But then I started thinking weird ideas like...Maybe Voldemort is Harry's dad???

And then i researched it a bit and found out there were a lot of accidentel clues in the third film that were linked to the outcome. I don't know what they are but all should become clear in 19 days!

I saw this question and HAD to read the answers. MiraO's is good. But the person knowing "JKR's skill as an author"? Pu-leez! The lady killed off Dumbledore and Sirius. And this guy thinks the two who dies are Hopeless Errol and Drooling Fang! JKR wont kill secondary characters. She's headed for the Big Guns! It's either Ron, Hermione, Neville or even Ginny! I must say, killing the first two or Ginny will be quite a shock for us. Neville could die. And in HP&PoA, we saw that Wormtail owed Harry his life(or something like that). My cousin has a (weird) theory. In GoF, it says that "flesh - of the servant - w-willingly given - you will - revive - your master". What if Pettigrew abandoned Voldy? Then the spell couldn't work, right. But I disagree. The spell's been already used. What's the point?! I think Harry might die. That could prevent future "continuations" by fanatic wanabee authors. Although JKR will be getting a lotta hate-mail! And please, JKR said that Dumbledore definetly D-E-A-D! Maybe Harry could communicate with Dumbledore through his potrait though.

I think that Harry will survive and that he will return to Hogwarts as the Defence Against the Dark Arts teacher - it said in the last book that it has been cursed since Lord Voldemort asked for the job, with teachers only lasting a year so it is all set for Harry to take it on. I think Snape will prove to be a good guy and have been acting on Dumbledore's orders to kill him, maybe it was a trick and he is not really dead, but if he is really dead, Snape will do something to help Harry and he will realise he is on his side after all. I am worried that Ron or Hermione might die at the end of this one, but maybe not. I also think Malfoy might turn against LV, but who really knows. I have no idea who RAB is and have been racking my brains about this one. I do think that LV will end up dead - how can Rowling not allow good to triumph over evil, but I think he may have to sacrifice something or someone to do so...... I can't wait to the 21st July to find out - can you?

I too think that Harry is the final Horcrux, as soon as he dies, Voldy becomes mortal and then is at last killed by Neville.

I hope I am wrong as I want Harry to live, but I cannot see how he can,

Just make sure that good overcomes evil - these are childrens book after all!!!!!

Roll on the midnight book launch!

I think Harry is a Horcrux, rather than Voldemort's snake, Nagini. There was a very pointed moment in HBP where Harry asks something along the lines of 'what? do you mean living beings can be Horcruxes too?' Also, if Voldemort had accidentally made Harry into a Horcrux, it would explain why Harry has some of his powers (eg. Parseltongue)

Therefore, I think ultimately Harry will 'sacrifice' himself so that Voldemort can ultimately be killed.

My theory is that knowing JK Rowling's skill as an author, the 2 deaths promised will be Fang the dog and Errol, Ron's owl. Then Voldemort will totally own Harry but then Harry will pull out some special rule about his past/some new spell he just happens to have learnt, and Voldemort will die.

Here's what I think:

Harry will sacrifice himself to kill Voldemort - he is indeed the final Horcrux. He is a Christ-like messiah figure and will therefore have to die for the story to be complete (in my humble opinion!).

By this time Ron and Hermione will already be dead. They will die at separate times but will both be dead by the end of the book.

Harry will join his parents, Dumbledore and Ron and Hermione in the "Deathly Hallows" - ie a world for Ghosts. This won't be sad - it will be more like the final narnia book - they'll all be happy in the magic equivalent of heaven, and they'll still be able to see and communicate with the "real" world.

I just saw this question and had to read the answers, I think that HP will defo die coz of what JKR said, she does not want other wana bez carrying on with the story and spoiling it! I also think that dumbledor may reappear, didn't think his death was written out well, but then again HP defo needs help to kill voldy, if dumbledor could be fooled HP not a match for him!!!! I also think that HP may be a Horus which would make sense seeing as he does have some of voldy's powers and i think the deathly hollows refers to the place where HPz parents died and that is where the final "battle" between HP and Voldy will take place!!!!!!!!!!!!

Harry and the DA (with help from OoP) defeat Voldemort, but who killed him (Harry or Neville) is not clear. One of the Twins will die (or at least one of the Weasleys). Dumbledore will appear, but only in a portrait/collectors card. Harry will find one of the remaining horcrux by looking in the mirror that featured in Phil Stone.
