Doesn't at&t have a security system to block viruses for their customers? If so, how do you download that?

Cause I'm getting SICK of McAfee because it slows my computer down and is bugging me. Any suggestions??

Yes, they do, but you have to be an AT&T customer to get it. (it comes in that disk they give you when you suscribe.) Try the following free softwares to rid yourself of malware:

I prefer Avast, but AVG is just as great.

First, you need anti-virus software - download, install and update AVG anti-virus (it's free for personal use) - you can find it here - http://free.grisoft.com/doc/1

Then remove your System Restore points (viruses love to hide in the System Restore files), but be aware that if you do remove your existing Restore Points you will not be able to "roll back" your computer to a previous configuration. Just to be sure you don't have other malware on your computer I recommend that you download SpyBot Search & Destroy and Adware - both are free spyware/adware detection and removal software.

Using AVG - run a full system virus scan while in Safe Mode

Free registry cleaners:
CCleaner does not specialise in cleaning the registry, it's mostly used to speed up your computer by cleaning up your recycle bin, temp files/internet files, browsing history, application errors, log files and so on.. which frees up some space in your harddisk

I would recommend the following(click on the webpage and follow):

Free Windows Registry Repair(first one) - rather effective, the first scan i did after about a year showed over 500 problems with the registry, fixed them all

RegSeeker(2nd one) - fixed another 300 problems after using the previous one.

and like the two of them said, Eusing Free Registry Cleaner and Abexo Free Registry Cleaner(30 day trial)

Just run them all that'll fix most problems! But dont expect 100% fixes because programs might recreate registry entries when used and so a second scan might still show the same few errors. (ignore such errors)

Most ISP's such as AT&T, etc. provide antivirus protections at their Servers and not on your individual computer. Therefore there are no downloads available from them.

If you want free antivirus go to http://www.download.com and get AVG Antivirus Free edition. It works great.

I do agree.... McAfee & Norton are much to expensive and do bog down most PC's unless they are new and have a really good processor and lots of RAM.

You have the loopy virus. lol idk what its quite known as. Go to nontoxic mode by way of urgent F8 consistently again and again for the period of boot. And then click on nontoxic mode. (Not with networking) after which click on begin, run, variety MSCONFIG. and pass to startup tab and uncheck the whole thing. Apply, dont restart but. Change your wallpaper. And delete any icons created to your computing device by way of the virus. From there, you'll down load an antivirus, ideally Nod32 antivirus.

nahhh don't use none of that....get this program...trust me it's the best!!...it's called spyware terminator....it doesn't only prevent spyware....but it's also an antivirus program that's very safe and easy to use....ey i'm that guy that wanted to know how to sync photos from ipod to pc illegally...for FREEE....can u tell me how to do it?...please don't forget to tell me how!!
