no. they're lacking in each ingredient of the sport. the beginning rotation is a humorous tale which in turn overworks the bullpen. they have in no way been a shielding group, and as quickly as lower back they fail to be this 365 days. on paper thier offense seems reliable, yet too many adult adult males on the roster have thier terrific years in the back of them. no group has come decrease back from 14 a million/2 video games decrease back, the seventy 8 yankee's have been 14 video games decrease back and did it yet that fluctuate right into a some distance diverse group. the wildcard will come from the mandatory, and definitely i'm going to be suprised to work out the yank's end greater effective than third interior the AL east. as for torre getting fired mid-season, i doubt it. they have not got absolutely everyone to change him. alot of persons say mattingly will, yet he's unproven and with a suffering group bringing in a sparkling supervisor commonly won't resolve a mid-season challenge. on the different hand, if the yank's proceed to play like they're now then torre will actually be long gone interior the submit-season.

Yes they will. They don't look so good right now but the always seem to find a way to turn it around. Keep in mind also that the Red Sox are notorious for falling apart at the end of the season and have not actually held on to the division lead since 1995. Even when they won the series in 2004 they finished second in the standings to the Yanks.

I would find it unlikely. The Yankees would need to start playing well, which they are not right now, and they would still need some help, like the Red Sox throwing away the division lead. The Yankees are simply not a play-off caliber team at this point in time.

Here are some reasons why they won't make it in '07:
1) not enough QUALITY pitching depth
2) The Red Sox, The Tigers, The Indians, & their nemesis, THE ANAHEIM ANGELS are better squads from top to bottom than the Yankees.
3) up and down offensive production, with the exception of Alex.
4) Despite what Mr. Steinbrenner thinks, no one teams in ANY SPORT can win a championship EVERY YEAR! (ask Celtic fan, Laker fan(me), Cowboy fan, U. of Alabama Football fan, you get the idea).

Wow! you are a hugeE yankee fan! How nice! I am a hugeE anti-yankee fan! Welcome to answers! You are new, aren't you? You must be otherwise you would have seen this question asked only 250,000 times this week alone!
and 2,500,000 people have said:
"YANKEES GO HOME! NO PLAYOFFS FOR YOU THIS YEAR OR NEXT YEAR OR THE YEAR AFTER THAT OR THE YEAR AFTER THAT OR EVEN THE YEAR AFTER THAT!"
and did you know that All of those 2,500,000 are absolutely correct!
Better yet, the other 29 MLB teams (YES! THEY ARE OTHER TEAMS IN MLB! WOW! WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT WAS POSSIBLE?) are happy to see the yankees as the pathetic losers they really are.

Do they have a chance sure. Is it likely...not so much. As it stands right now they are 11 back from Boston, and 9 back in the wild card with 5 teams ahead of them. That is a very large difference to make up... even for the Yankees. They need a lot of SP help in order for that to happen.

I'm a yankee fan and i will never say they can't until they physically can't make it. 1978 is all i have to say and they still have about 80 games to go so theres still a chance and everyone is saying they have to catch the sox, they could get the wild card

Not likely, too many holes in their roster - bad pitching, poor hitting from the left side, overpaid guys who are difficult to trade.
