U.S. District Judge Reggie B. Walton, who sentenced Libby and refused to delay the prison term, was a Bush appointee. Two of the three appellate judges who denied Libby's request Monday were appointed by Republicans.

All unanimous in there convictions that this guy had to go to jail.

Bush pushes a button on his cigarette boat and the guy walks. Only in the travesty of the legal system that is America's thanks to the neocons who support the idiot at the top.

Amazing how the mind of the average conservative in this county works eh? It is truly a sight to behold. It would be amusing were it not so pitifully sad. The White House does not care about law at this point and that is painfully obvious to the majority of people, however there are still a few stragglers who buy into the nonsense and rhetoric and will defend it to their last gasping breath.

What Bush actually did was commute the prison term, which he said was simply too harsh. Libby will still have to pay the quarter of a million dollar fine. Outing Plame wasn't that big of a deal. She wasn't that big of a deal within the CIA. Successful agents must blend in with their surroundings. She was a little too flashy to be effective. She was a small fish in a big pond.

Libby did not leak the name of the CIA agent to reporter Bob Novak.
It was done by another person (Armitage).

The worst thing in this whole case was the fact that the prosecutor (Fitzgerald) found this fact early on in his investigation, yet he kept his investigation on by dragging administration officials (Libby) in front of the Grand Jury trying to trip him on perjury charges.

The moment when Fitzgerald found out about the person who leaked the information (Mr. Armitage admitted that he was the source for Bob Novak's report) - the investigation should have stopped, and not be used for personal career enhancement. He should suffer the same fate as Mike Nifong.

and this surprises you? they have no respect for law, and since he has no problem about doing this. which was commute the setence of someone who lied and obstructed justice in reference to our nation's security, the better damn well commute the sentences of the 2 Border Patrol agents who were convicted and sentenced for actually doing their job, protecting our national security by trying to protect our borders
I am so sick and tired of people making excuses for Libby. No one forced him to take an oath to tell the truth and lie 7 times not only to the FBI but also to the grand jury. He had notes that he could have referred back to which he fully well knew he had but he still chose to lie. Enough!!!

Libby gets a lot of attention, but it really seems like the tip of the iceberg to me.

Amen Sister! Well put!

BTW, do you really have to use a name that reminds us of the world's most ignorant loudmouth?

Anyway, a star unto you.

I expected Bush to wait until his last day in office before doing the dirty deed but I underestimated just how corrupt Bush is.

It appears John Edwards was right. There are two Americas. One for regular folks and one for Bush and his followers.
