The cops knock on my door. They have a warrent. I say no way! I have EXECUTIVE PRIVILEDGE!

They go to the highest court in the land. But I just say no way! I have EXECUTIVE PRIVILEDGE!

Anyone see a problem here?

Congress: we need to have some people from your office come down for a talk

Cheney: Executive privilege

Congress: They are subpoenaed!!!!

Cheney: Executive privilege

Congress: FINE!!!! We want all these documents that you have to give us because you are in the executive branch

Cheney: .......................The Vice President is not part of the executive branch.

Congress: WTF!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Cheney: Executive privilege... respectfully .

I see a problem if you claim executive privilege. That's reserved for the executive branch, not for individual citizens outside the government. At least according to the constitution anyway.

Not for you if you have executive privilege - it can even excuse treason, like exposing a CIA operative if you don't like what their husband is saying about a war that never should have been started in the first place. Of course, that would never really happen, right?
