So I was reading my mom's newspaper, and I saw an article about how you can make an instant car cooler by yourself. The direction says: "50cc of ethanol mixed with 450cc of purified water in a spray bottle". This is roughly translated from Mandarin. Because this was posted by a regular reader, and i searched on Google and found no supportive scientific result, I'm wondering if this method is plausible before i even drive off to a 99 cent store to buy the materials and try it. (It also said on the side that everything can be obtained at 99 Cent Market). So, can anyone tell me if this will actually work? I live in SoCal and I am kind of in a desperate need of a instant car cooler when i first enter my car (black interior). Any suggestion or comment is appreciated =D.

Isn't your "cooled" car going to smell like someone spilled a bottle of gin inside it? That is probably like a beacon that draws the cops looking for drunk drivers and open liquor bottles.

Even if the interior did get cool you are going to be standing outside the car doing a field sobriety check and will not benefit from that coolness.
