IF Cleveland loses tonight that would put them 1 game up on Detroit going to Comerica Park tomorrow, and if they win it would put them up 2 games.
If they lose, and Detroit takes 2 of 3 then they would be tied going into the weekend. They play Toronto and we play Boston...now my question is...could Cleveland & Detroit be tied at the ASB, or will either team be up 1, 2, or 3 games?

What do you think will happen?

Cleveland won last night. So that puts them 2 back of the Indians which means they have to sweep to get in 1st after this series. I'm going to say Cleveland will be 3 up at the break.

The Indians so far are 5-2 against the Tigers. If the Tigers took 2 out of 3 and were tied percentage wise with the Indians, the Tribe would still be ahead because of head to head record. But the Indians won last night....So I guess the Tigers would have to sweep the series.

i personally like to see competition finally in some division i mean come on the bosox are already running away with the American league east and the angels have a healthy lead in the west so that leaves the central to battle it out,
same with the national league not a whole lot of competition except for the NL West.
I like Detroit's chances in the long hot dog days of summer (July and august) Verlander looks like the real deal and he is pitching to Pudge.
not to mention the team is loaded with Sheff, Ordonez, Pudge, Bonderman etc etc.
Did you see Verlander is going up against CC Sabathia July 5th that should be a good one and a pre cursor to what we might see in October ?

Cleveland did wasted their enemy yesterday to won the game against Tampa Bay. Tigers had the day off as regain new energy and ready to beat the Indians tonight as Tigers would about to sweep Indians this week.

I think that Detroit goes on a long losing streak - much like the whole 2003 season. They then get passed by the White Sox. All will be whole in the world again.
Either that or they lose in either the playoffs or World Series again. Let's face it - they just like to choke. I just wonder if they got the copy of "throwing to third for dummies" book I sent them.

I think (hope and pray w/ every piece of my heart & soul) that the Tigers end up taking 2 out of 3. We have to, simple as that. This is a race and we can't keep letting the pesky Indians take our first place spot. It's time to shine...this week/weekend we have MUCH to prove!!! I know we'll have our A game ready for them!! :D

GO TIGERS!!! THEY rock my socks!! hehe!!!

The two teams have been bouncing back and forth all year long and one can't pull away from the other. It would not surprise me if they were dead even going into the all-star weekend. Thank you for the opportunity to answer.

Indians will win the AL Central, and the Tigers will miss the playoffs (that is, if there IS a God). Both teams, however, get to beat up on baseball's worst team.

It doesn't really matter both teams will make the playoffs but the Indians will be up 1 game at the All-Star break
