I hate to say this because I always liked the Minnesota Vikings, but the only team from the NFC North that is going to make the playoffs will be the Bears. Adrian Peterson isnt going to make much of a difference for 2 reasons. 1.) He will be sharing carries with Chester Taylor and 2.) They have absolutely NO passing game to speak of. Their receivers are average (at best) and they dont have any experience at the QB position. Because of this, defenses are going to focus on their running game and shut it down because there is no threat from the passing game. I dont think the Vikes will fair better than 8-8. In 2006 they went 6-10, and I dont think Peterson is the answer. Yes they do have a good run defense going for them, but their defense is going to be on the field for most of each game and wont last an entire season trying to keep that team in the game.

The only way that the Vikings could make it to the playoffs is if they won their division and they are not quite there yet. They have the defense to be a playoff team. Though their defense isn't quite super bowl ready since they give up way too many pass yards. Their offense is the problem. Tarvaris Jackson just doesn't have the tools to be a super bowl QB. And the Vikings recievers are chronic underachievers. So even if Jackson plays his butt off, their recievers can't catch a cold. Adrian Peterson is a very good RB, so if he can stay healthy (which is not a given) then he will definitely help. But he is not going to carry this team to a super bowl any time soon.

The team may have Adrian Peterson, but remember he is only one player and the Vikings as a whole are not ready to make the playoffs from what i see. The team needs a good veteran QB. Maybe Daunte could be a good choice for them. Also, the QB does not have any quality targets, and the defense is starting to fall behind. The team could use a good linebacker, two quality corners, a QB and one or two good WRs to make the playoffs and possible go to the super bowl.

your kidding right? The Vikings need a good steady QB, Tarvious Jackson isn't good I'm sorry but they'll be lucky to win 7 games this year. They have a great defense but are in major need of a good offense. Adrian Peterson will be great but Chester Taylor will probably see more carries. And the Wide Receivers are lacking greatly and the offense will be terrible. Don't count on the Vikings to go far this year.

Sorry, but I don't see the Vikings making the playoffs for several reasons. Number One-They need a solid QB, face it I've seen Jackson play and I don't see big things coming from him.
Reason Number Two- They have to play the AFC West-that will be won win. Also they play the NFC East that will be up to 2 wins.
Reason Number Three- WR's, The Vikings don't have a big name Wide Receivers on their teama. Yes, they have Sidney Rice, but whose going to get the ball to him unless Jackson has a good season.
Reason Number Four- Line Backers, The Vikings line backers aren't bad, but they aren't good enough to build the defense off.

Vikings might make the playoffs. Not the Superbowl. A great running game and a young mobile QB might be enough offense to get them to the playoffs.Bears won't be as good this year. Detroit is Detroit. Green Bay? Might be good might not. Vikings have a Chance to win a weak division.

Adrian Peterson was a beast in college, and I think he will continue dominance in the NFL. But the vikings problem is 1) thier tough schedule as always and 2) thier horrible QB situation. They could scrape up a wild-card apperance to play another lucky team but they will not make it past the wild-card round.

A 6-10 season, no playoffs, and at least 2 QB changes during the year.

Im a Vikings fan I say we go 8-8 if Jackson plays well. If not look for the vikings to be picking in the top 10 again next year.
Playoffs= Doubtful
