Get a scotch-brite scrub pad, either the sponge one with the scrubbie side or the green no scratch pad and use Soft-scrub with bleach.. Wet down the tub and apply a medium thick layer and let it sit for about 10 minutes then rinse with hot water... It should come off... If you don't want soap scum to return wax your tub with automotive wax every 3 months and the dirt just washes away... ! Also, you can try some cheapie liquid dishwasher detergent if you have some in the house.. Just apply in a thin layer and leave on 10-20 min. and rinse....

I would try WD40 if nothing else will work. I clean houses and offices and use this stuff all the time on hard stains. Have plenty of air stirring when using WD40. I will give you a web site for over 2,000 uses for WD40 . It is a good water repellent too. I might advise after every use whether shower bathtub sink if you rinse out and dry you will not have soap scum or water build up..

I use something called tub and tile from a company called Melaleuca. Very little scrubbing, not bad for the environment and even takes the tarnish off of a penny. :)

There is a spray called Shower Patrol that be be used on tile and porcelin that works very well. You spray it on, let it sit, then wipe if off. If you turn off the water to the toilet, then flush it, you can spray in there, and it removes the water line stain. It has a very strong smell, and advises you to wear gloves. I ordered it on-line.

CLR - it gets calcium, lime and rust stains out - often, without scrubbing. Don't know how nasty it may be for the environment though!
