Are skeptics blind/deaf to spirits? Or are certain people just blind/deaf to it, so they become skeptics? My girlfriend and her roomate believe ghosts exist, and in their new apartment, both "heard" a ghost, in a way... Her roomate woke up when she heard a loud noise, and says it sounded like it was right next to her.. The next night, My girlfriend heard an old sounding man saying "Hey.. Hey!" as if to wake her up, which it did.. And she said it didn't sound like it came from outside, it sounded like the voice was right next to her, and it stopped as soon as she woke up (you know how you hear your alarm at first, but aren't really awake from it). I was with my girlfriend that night, and I didn't hear anything... I also don't believe ghosts exist. Are people who believe in ghosts just delusional, or am I just deaf/blind?

Ghosts are of a spiritual essence and for those who are not in tune with the spiritual side of themself is not going to have a spiritual experience.
Women are more in tune with the ethereal and mystic part of their mind and body whereas men are more creatures of logic... not to say they can't be as mystically connected as women but women in general are more that way naturally.
I think it is possible you are just not receptive to the presence of ghosts or other paranormal events as you may not be open to the channel of spirits.
Ghosts, among many other entities, are real and thousands, if not millions, have made contact with them. Myself, I have had MANY experiences with ghosts (and other entities) and the spiritual realm.
Skeptics are only so because they've haven't had the experience. Seeing, hearing and/or feeling a ghost is something that only has to happen once for you to never forget it.

There are actually different kinds of ghosts.
Some (I think residual haunters) are spirits stuck in a place and time. You'll hear things or know they are there, but they won't see you at all.
Others are just the floating spirits who love home and won't leave.
Some are bound to the house for reasons of unresolved issues in life, or even something as dramatic as a crime so great they can't leave, like murder.
Then others can actually reach out and hurt people, or cause chaos -these are usual poltergeists.
Lastly, you have the worst, true demons that can leave the pits of Hell through a 'doorwar' to wreak havoc on us.

We are all sensitive to it in differing levels. Ghosts are also able to manifest differently and to different levels. I live in an apt. building where many have died. I have a visitor or two I am aware of, but probably a lot more than I am aware of. We all have energy that makes us go. Sometimes the container, (body), gets broken wickedly and quickly, that's usually when the spirit hangs around. If you can live with this spirit in harmony, don't worry about it. If it hasn't hurt you yet, it won't. It's just another person, only their body broke.

People are blind to things they don't have explanations for. Everything needs to be in a nice neat little black and white package in order for some to be believers. I know ghosts/spirits are real and no one is going to tell me different. Believe me there are many many unexplained occurences in our world that science cant figure out, and that doesnt make it any less real. Open your mind to that which we don't understand and you will be surprised, perhaps, on what you will learn.

Ghosts are just echos or shadows cast from peoples lives it is nothing mystical but another level of micro quantum physics incomprehensible by physicists today but one day all will be understood as we evolve as a people and forget about distractions such as war and famine we can focus on more interesting things such as ghosts and aliens.

In Islam, we believe there are Satans and Djinns. The point of having these unseen (but sometimes, felt, and heard) creatures is to test humans' faith in God. So your girlfriend's experience is either a) a dream or b) valid confusion caused by either of these two Creatures.

If you never had an encounter with the supernatural, Then why would anyone expect you to believe... But your belief will not stop other from believing if they have encounter with the supernatural.. Nor will your lack of belief prevent someone from being attached by a demon..... So until you have an encounter..Keep believing that ghost don't exist... This way when it happens for you the surprise will be that much more greater and we belivers will still welcome you to the real world............................................................................................

i know they are real, ive had tooo many strange experiences to chalk up to coincidences...too many things flying off shelfs, clocks stopping at certain times, sightings, voices, its real, and i know it. alot of people are scared of the unknown, what they cant see....seeing isnt always believing...
