Saddam provided shelter for Al Qaeda operatives. While Saddam wasn't directly responsible for 9/11, nobody can deny that Iraq was a supporter of terrorism.

Honestly....I don't think anyone can blame a country. 9/11 happened from a group of people who thought their actions were a work of righteousness....and I am sure those who still believe that way will continue in their mission to destroy life. I feel we have a right to protect ourselves but I don't feel it our right to kill innocent lives in behalf of bring the terrorist group to justice. I honestly can say....I have no idea what is going on with our war in Iran or those other country's we are policing I want to know the truth but most wars and acts of blood shed are done in darkness and secrecy...there is a million factors along with a million opinions of who is right and who is wrong....I wish I could figure it out....I just want to support the side of righteousness....what ever side that is

It's called denial. Or displacement: the real culprit is elsewhere . Why blame bin Laden or shift the billions spent in Iraq to capture him?

probably the same 26% of the country that thinks Bush is doing a great job.

hey exposing liberals(part of the 26% I just spoke of)-do your homework, I dont' know where you got that crap from, but anyway. Saddam's Iraq was a secular state. he was the true power, not like the Theocracies (Iran) and the ideologies supported by AL-Qaeda. Saddam was a tyrrant who wouldn't stand for rouge cells like Al-Qaeda challenging his authority in his country. One of Al-Qaeda's stated goals was to not only topple the US but also secular Islamic states in the region to instate Theocracies, run by Sharia (Islamic law)

I do not. We knew where Saddam was and now look at the mess we are in. We should never have gotten this involved. We should have concentrated on Afghanistan.

Not me, it boggles my mind that the administration would make such a claim

Saddam was sunni, Al-qaeda is Shi'a and as we can ALL see in Iraq, they hate each other very much

nobody ever did. it was more about will they be responsible for the next one, and we never gave them a chance to. if they were even going to. i don't care really what's done is done, so we might as well finish whatever we decided was the reason we're still there.
