It really depends on the type of work you do, and how well you feel throughout your pregnancy.
If it involves chemicals - paints, oils, vapors, some cleaners, etc, sooner is better. It might mean you have to change your job, to protect the infant.
If it involves heavy work again it might be better sooner than later.
If your job is vital to the running of the business, then at least a few months before you need to leave, to find and train someone to fill (or fill in) while you are gone.
If your job is physically easy, and non-vital, at least one month before you would leave.
But I have found few can/will keep the pregnancy a secret past the first few months anyway, so unless its a huge corporation, the boss will know soon enough.

My grandmother purely these days informed me i could no longer pass to my pastor's funeral using fact it may impression the toddler in some way. additionally, my mom has informed me diverse cases, if I poke my abdomen too lots the toddler's going to return out with bruises and/or birthmarks throughout him. i've got heard from my sister that ingesting tremendously spiced ingredients will reason crimson spots on the toddler, and likewise that heartburn potential the toddler is bushy. Hm. And, females do away with splendor, and boys make you greater alluring for the duration of being pregnant. Going with that topic, that while you're having a boy, little females would be interested in you, while you're having a woman, little boys would be interested in you. those are all i'm able to think of of top now, yet i've got heard soooo many greater loopy ones from random human beings.

right away. I had to due to the fact that I ended up staying overnight at the hospital for puking up blood and was told not to go to work the next day and I was only 7 weeks along. I called work from the hospital and asked for the boss and told her exactly what was going on and also mentioned to her that I was pregnant.

I always had a good relationship with my bosses, so as soon as I knew, I felt at ease telling them. If you want to wait until you're around 3 mos, that works too, but you should tell them before you start to show and everyone starts guessing.
If you do have a good relationship with your boss, you may want to tell them as soon as you want to make the news public, so they can begin making plans to cover your job while you're on maternity leave, or to replace you if you decide to quit.

That just depends on you. I told my boss right away because I wanted her to know what was going on just in case something happened( basically we thought I would miscarry). Most people wait until after 12 or 13 weeks to tell anyone at all.

I know eveybody tells you not to tell anyone about your pregnancy till after the 12 weeks mark when you are past the risk of miscarrying.
But i'd tell your employer now.
The only reason being if something was to happen at work ie: you had an accident or fainted or whatever reason, then at least somebody knows about your condition.
Make it quite clear that you don't want anyone else to know yet untill you are past the 12 weeks mark
Good luck.

Common etiquette says that you should announce pregnancies after the 4th month when the chance of miscarriage is very low. I told my bosses right around the time I was beginning to show, when they would soon find out anyway.

Some folks are superstitious and want to wait till after the first trimester to announce the pregnancy. It all depends on you. You can inform your boss as early as now or wait a bit.
