It doesn't have to be Wal-Mart (which I hate); it could be Target or any supermarket.

5 minutes...what would you do?

Let me explain. Recently, I was in a store (not Wal-Mart), where the mother screamed at the kid and beat it for EVERY little thing. The little girl was about 4, and after they got outside, the mother started beatingon the kid and saying "How DARE you embarass me in that store, you little sh*t!" The little girl screamed, "I'm sorry, Mommy! I'm sorry!" The mother yelled, "You wait until we get home, then you'll REALLY be sorry!"
I took down the license plate number and called CPS. But I wanted just FIVE minutes alone with that child beater...!

I think that most people know the difference between someone who "beats" a child and someone who is correcting a child. What you witnessed sounds like overkill to me and you did the right thing. The child doesn't deserve that. There are some parents who think that discipline is punishment, but what it really is is teaching.

What? We have the most uncontrolable little brats in our Wal Mart store that throws tantrums and breaks stuff.
You give to me or you will be sorry kids.
Where is a good child beater when you need one?
I would turn him lose in our Wal Mart store after feeding him raw meat. With a club.
Why can't parents realize that brat is only cute to you, the rest of us want to spank their butt.

What is one of those? A parent who beats kids in supermarkets? If so , I suppose I'd tell them, Wal-Mart is not the time or the place?

Yeah, for a woman to say that to a 4 year old bring tears to my eyes regaurdless if she's in a wal-mart or in a Macy's or even a Betsy Johnson Boutique

I am not sure what a Wal Mart child beater is. If you mean someone who spanks their child for misbehaving in a store....I would do nothing. Children deserve to be corrected when they misbehave. I do not think that spanking is abuse. BEATING? That is obviously a different story.

Is a Wal-Mart child beater basically like a normal child-beater? If so, show them how it feels (providing I had the strength).

I know what you mean, it really makes me mad, about that when my kids were younger, and they were being bad, I just stop my shopping and went home, I don't beat my kids, maybe that is why sometimes they are brats, but good brats, I wouldn't trade they for the world, Flowers

I don't know...I hate Wal-Mart and everyone in it...Target at least attracts a better class of scumbags.

Anybody who hits their kid is a bad parent, you need to teach your kids to solve things with words not violence. If you have a problem at work you don't duke it out you talk it out but as far as the 5 minutes alone goes I think that is to far. Violence does not beget violence.
