Don't laugh, but I'm actually trying to make a decent MySpace profile. Unfortunately, no one there knows diddly about HTML or CSS.

I have a big desktop screen, and I'd like for my background image to stretch to fit my window automatically... without making the image too big on smaller desktops. I think the term is "scalable image", but I'm not quite sure how to work it properly.

I do not want to just resize the pixels to a fixed measurement. I'd like the image to stretch to fit the window, no matter what size the window is.

Can someone help me, or is this impossible?

You could do what you want with JavaScript, but since MySpace doesn't allow JavaScript, you're out of luck.

From a web designer:

First, make sure you have the Firefox browser installed. Once you do, open it and got to Tools > Add-ons. At the bottom of this window, click on Get Extensions.

Once at the page, go here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/60

Download this extension and restart Firefox. This toolbar, which should be available once you restart, is loaded with web developer tools. Click on Resize and you will see and option to resize your browser window to 800x600. You can also add additional resize options that you can make up. I use this tool extensively b/c my laptop is a widescreen. I also love the CSS options that it has.

Good luck!

When you are working with pics or images you have the option to edit them. It other words stretch them this way or that with your mouse.
