Are there particular sunflower seeds you can and cant eat? Somewhere I read "if your going to eat the seeds make sure you get confectionary sunflowers" but they didnt say anymore than that, and I dont know if the source was reliable or anything. Anyone know?

Yea, you can. I'm growing the mammoths right now. After you harvest the seed, soak them in salt water and then roast them in the oven. Here is a site with complete instructions for roasting: http://www.sunflowernsa.com/health/recipes/recipe.asp?rID=53
Happy roasting.

No salted ingredients, they may well be undesirable for hamsters, unsalted peanuts and sunflower seeds may well be fed once or twice each week as treats. in no way as huge-unfold nutrition, they're too fattening.
