if a guy said to a woman 'you are at the top bar' what would you suppose that meant?

Ever heard the phrase 'setting the bar high?' It's a sports analogy meaning to set your goals high. To me, saying that to a woman would mean that in the guy's opinion, he thinks she has reached his ideal (goal) for the type woman he wants. On the other hand..I wouldn't use a sports analogy to describe a woman I was interested in...but that's just me.

Top shelf, top of the bar, means (I think) all the fine wine and spirits are kept on the top shelf and the lesser quality is on the lower shelf. me thinks.

its a really frig gin stupid way of saying you high class baby,topshelp, top of the heap, a number one,compliment. but this guy is also very into himself and apparently not a conversationalist and definitely not a romantic

I would take it to mean you can't reach any higher. That you are at the top. I'd take it as a compliment!
