I just got an offer for some acreage I've been holding for several years. Probably will accept the offer, but I want to make sure I'm getting enough $$$$ per acre. I *do* know the housing and real estate boom is on its way down, as the market in this area is flooded with houses.

zillow wont even be close for you.

Call up a local agent and simply ask for a comp. They can do it in under 5 minutes. They will be thinking they may get a listing and will give you the information pronto. You do not have to meet with them or anything, so if htey demand that just ask another one.

Be prepared to answer a few basic questions, mostly regarding availability of power, water and sewage.

www.zillow.com might have some help...but I'd look in the local paper classifieds to get a more specific idea of what it is selling for around your property.
