to be all around the St Louis area? I think it may be because of the increase in the hawk population, but i have also heard that west nile virus got them a few years back. any one really know?

Here in Baltimore, on the east coast, we had the same thing - the American Crow population got hammered by West Nile a few years back. There's been a slight resurgence, but still most of our crows now are Fish Crows, the smaller relative that we used to only see around here in the winter. For some reason. they don't seem to be so sensitive to the virus. Natural selection in action, there.

They all moved to Abilene, Texas. We are seriously overrun with them. You can come get some if you like.LOL
