Well,

We could try a few things from a sociological perspective that might be cool.

1. We might try making everyone about 20% smarter than they are, an extra 10 or 15 IQ points all around tends to do some interesting things.

People become less violent, people get better jobs and invent more stuff. People can figure out when other people are full of crap and avoid them more often.

2. A mechanism for people to review history, sort of like a historical television. Allow anyone who wants to to tune in to anyone, anytime, anywhere, this way you could end forever, debates over religion, history, science, crime etc. It could make things much much simpler.

3. I would increase our empathic abilities, create a situation whereby people were not nearly so callous as they are, wouldn't the world be a different place, there would be no Chancellor Hitler or Emperor Napoleon or President Bush, since they would have been internally tortured by the decision leading up to their devistating reigns. It would have saved alot of Russian/French/German/American/Jewish/Iraqi/Arab lives in the process.

Technologically it's pretty simple.

1. Get fusion working, cheap , reliable energy for everyone on Earth.

2. Create nanotechnology that allows for the replication of any desired materials of equal mass, using energy as an input.

3. Get off-world, the solar system and the galaxy beyond are amazing places totally waiting for us to discover them. It would be sometimes dangerous but no good adventure is totally safe.

Equal money for schools. In the US the money a school receives in based on the neighborhood it is in. So if every school got the same $$$ per kid then we would see real education reform.

I would like to see all countries take their defense budgets and troops and build solar panels instead of killing strangers

It should be a law that the leader of each country be elected by a lottery of single moms who work for a living

and it would make me really happy if it became an international law that to call your self a musician you had to play an instrument and write your own songs

I'm sorry American idol if you cant play and you didn't write it all you do is sing someone else's songs... the Japanese have a word for that..........Karaoke

There ahhhhhhhhh I feel better.

I could never limit it to just one thing, there are so many equally bad things in the world. For one, I wish every country could just get a long, I'm sick of the wars, and fighting, etc. Second I wish that countries would help out the huge amounts of poverty. Like Africa for instance, they have such hard lives, their government needs to come up with helpful programs, get schools, etc. and if they can't do it, someone needs to help them. Countries are like neighbors, you need to help one another. I could sit here all day naming things to change, but I'll stop now.

The first thing I would do would be to change people's mentalities and implement certain views in their brain. I would make them incapable of discrimination. I would determine them with psychological manipulation to make no more differences based on race, age or gender. By decreasing the rate of discrimination and increasing the awareness of equality, a lot less morally and statistically illegal acts would happen.

The lack of respect for all living things and non living things. Respect would go a long way to changing our world for the better.

I would change the "you could change one thing" to "everybody could change one thing". Then 6,602,224,175 things in the world would be changed for the better.

PS. Every time you make someone smile, you've made the world a better place!

For everyone to stop wishing they could do unrealistic things to change the world and do something they CAN do to make a difference starting just in their community for example.
