The Gateway is the best- fastest processor, biggest screen,

2nd best is the Compaq

The Dell is in 3rd place

Some people may rate the Dell ahead of the Compaq, but I'd rather have the faster processor than 70gb more of hard disk space. Also, Dell's technical support has gone way downhill over the past couple of years.

The Acer is the slowest.

AMD processor speeds are rated by the number in front of the plus sign- so a 4000+ is faster than a 3800+ which is faster than a 3600+. All of them are faster than the Pentium-D 925.

Gateway. The screen is big. The CPU is 64bit dual core. This means fast speed unlike the Pentium D. A lot of Hard Drive space.Nice burner that can burn anything.

i would chose the dell $698, dell has excellent customer support plus you have a sata HD wich will boost your computer perfomance a little. And just as a general rule when buying a computer what you pay is what you get, unless they are ripping you off like when you buy a MAC.

The gateway. The bigger screen is the single most important thing.
