yes it is, he probably will lose his law license though, he will still be a convicted felon, I bet Bush pardons him when he leaves office. He will get that chance as his last act.
hey wingshooter, get your head outa your butt, and don't be afraid of the truth. It did happen, and he did do it. He lied about releaseing classified information about an undercover CIA operative, operating in a foreign country who's job it was to find loose nukes, during a time of war, they call that treason, and being a veteran, I hold a certain amount of disdain for treasonous individuals

Scooter Libby is not a criminal; he is a patriot. I don't think the commutation is lenient and I still hold hope that the President will give him a full pardon before he leaves office.
President Clinton's best friend is the first President Bush. We may still see a Presidential pardon come his way based on the way he has dedicated himself to humanitarian causes. I was never a President Clinton fan during his term in office, but since his heart problems I think he has become a changed human being. He, too, has earned special recognition from President Bush.

Libby deserved to do his time in reformatory. additionally, by commuting the sentence, Bush will including to the problems that Republican applicants will journey in 2008. Bush made a mistake.

Prosecutor Fitzgerald didn't prove the underlying charges he promised in 2005 when he first went after Libby. Fishing for Cheney failed.
The least the president could do was to commute Libby's sentence.

What did everyone say when Bill Clinton committed purjury (and lied to our faces!)? Oh yeah, everyone does it and it's not a big deal? Well, if you don't think Clinton should have served time instead of just losing his law license and paying a fine then why not the same for Scooter?
Never mind, I already know why... here's your sign!
I only wish W's first act as president would have been to pardon Bill Clinton! That would have been something for the historians to contemplate long into the future.

President Bush did the right thing. I haven't followed this real closely, but closely enough to know that the prison sentence was a great injustice.

Oh please. Tell me, did you jump up and down when the prosecutor declined to prosecute Hilliary Clinton for the same exact thing? Speaking of Clinton, I dare you to look up Bill Clinton's long list of pardons and then compare them to Bush's list of pardons. Did you scream and cry when Clinton pardoned all those people? If not, I would suggest that you rethink your rant.

i think he broke the law and should have gone to jail. last i knew bush wasn't a judge and jury. Libby knows too much and would have got people in trouble, cant put him in jail.

Republicans stick together, right or wrong. I wouldn't say that's always the honorable thing to do.
