I am getting a couple of blood draws done, but I was just curious..I cant find anything conclusive on the net, so I am going to pull from your personal experience.. I dont go to the doc until Friday, and am weighing taking some prog. lotion.
Also, just had a m/c about two months ago...wondering if progesterone was the culprit.

I work at a fertility clinic and it is not possible to produce too much progesterone. Progesterone is the hormone that supports the pregnancy in the first trimester, before the fetus is receiving nutrition from the placenta and umbilical cord. there is no way progesterone can induce a miscarriage. your doctor may even prescribe progesterone supplements or injections in case you are not producing enough of your own.

Progesterone is also the hormone that makes you have morning sickness.

usually when you have a miscarriage it means that the embryo that implanted was chromosomally abnormal. the body terminates the pregnancy to prevent a baby with birth defects and to protect the mother.

I don't think it would hurt the baby, but too much would have sedation effect on you, and it would make you very tired. It's needed to maintain a pregnancy and the placenta doesn't take over that function until you are about 13 weeks along so if you didn't produce enough you could miscarry early.
