Paul Revere and William Dawes were the two horsemen who rode intro the night and warned the outlying towns around Boston, Lexington and Concord among them, not Boston. Revere became more famous because of Longfellow's poem. After all, "The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere" rolls off the tongue better than "The Midnight Ride of William Dawes"
