You can sell them back at school, but you will not get much money back. Try going to www.amazon.com or www.half.com they are really good sites for college textbooks

Absolutely try to sell them on half.com or ebay. My son did this with some of his textbooks from law school that he no longer needed and got MUCH more for them from current law students than the campus book store would have given him. It works well for both parties - more profit for the seller & a real bargain for the buyer.

Keeping them if they are part of your major is a good idea. You can also post them on the college bulletin boards at the start of next semester. Some students will buy used in order to save a bit of money. If you still need to get rid of them after this, then try your local used book dealer.

Keep the ones you have any interest in at all. Sell the rest at a college book store, or online, or donate them, or trade them at a used book store, or ask your library if they want them. You could even have a garage sale.

Just make sure your books are not "instructors editions" if you're planning to sell them on an online site. That's going to get you in hot water with the site administrators. eBay is especially watchful.

Too old to sell? There are a couple of websites that take old textbooks and donate them to Africa or to prisoners in the U.S.

If they are important to your discipline, keep them. If they are not, give them away or recycle them (yes, the paper books are made of can be recycled these days). If you do not need them do not keep them around -- it is like carrying around firewood from each home you have throughout life.

You can sell them back to the bookstore for about 33%-55% of what their worth. That is, if they are going to be used next semester. Or you could sell them online at various sites.

If they are apart of your major i would keep it though.
