All my 118 songs are mp3 format, when I burn/make cds, I put in a blank disc, open the folder for it and burn it as a data cd. Does that mean a mp3 compatable stereo will play it?

"mp3 compatible stereo" can also indicate that the stereo has a "line in" jack that you can plug in a patch cable between your stereo and an mp3 playing device.

Yes! The only thing you need to watch out for is that you finalize the disc, otherwise most mp3 players will not be able to read it even thought it is properly burned.

also, stay away from rewritable discs in this particular application, they are much harder for the stereo to read.

even still, some songs may not play due to unusual encoding practices such as variable bit rate and other things

but in short, your methodology is correct
