Years ago there was what was called a fairness doctrine. I forget who was in power a the time. Anyway, it went away under Clinton.

The fact is, talk shows are entertainment and the personalities say what they say in order to get people worked up so they listen. Plain and simple, talk radio is no different from music radio. It's show BUSINESS and it makes station owners richer and richer. If Clear Channel, one of the biggest media owners in the world, thought they could make money playing 24 hours of punk Navajo polka music, they'd do it.

Money is not free speech. All the right wing entities are backed up with enormous amount of money to stifle open free speech.
All the corporate media are right wing and not liberal as the extremist right says. 90% of radio shows in the US are owned by right wing coporations.
