Worse than most. Mrs Libby had publicly said that if her husband went to jail, he wouldn't go alone. So this pardon is an obvious obstruction of justice. This should be the beginning of Bush's impeachment, if the Democrats have any guts.

This was to be expected from Bush. Of course he pardoned Libby, Libby took the fall for something and kept the scandal away from Bush inner circle and Bush pardoned him. I am not surprised at all. I am disgusted, but sadly not surprised. There is nothing Bush could do at this point that would surprise me.

Not sure if its an outrage. Presidents have that power, like it or not. It is, however, hugely disappointing that we are not being told the truth. Someone outed Valerie Plame. Someone should be heading to jail. I have huge doubts that the Someone was Mr Libby. Perhaps he should clear his conscience and tell the American people who it was.

The hypocrisy on the left knows no bounds!! Clinton handed out pardons to drug dealers and influence peddlers like nobodies business, but the coward waited till the very last days of his administration to avoid the firestorm of criticism he knew would be coming. At least Bush has the B***s to do it now and not wait till the last second. And he pardons an innocent man, Valerie Plame was not an "undercover" agent so there was no onus against telling a reporter she was in the CIA to begin with, not to mention the somewhat unethical nepotism of sending her husband on the "secret mission" to begin with.

If you want to see it that way, sure.
Of course, commuting a sentence and a pardon are vastly different. A pardon is like it never happened, and commuting the sentence just means he won't serve any more time.
When you think of "pardon", think of the Puerto Rican terrorists from FALN that Clinton pardoned.
Personally, I don't think he actually committed a crime, and neither do a lot of legal experts. One thing is certain, though, and that is that he didn't kill anybody, unlike the FALN members that Clinton pardoned.

Too the moron who keeps comparing this to Clinton. Clinton had to TESTIFY on TV about his sex life. No crime committed. Scooter Libby lied off his *ss about outing a CIA agent which probably got other agents killed and tons of other agents totally lost their covers in dealing with terrorists. Bush making the USA less safe again.

Of course he had to pardon Libby. Libby helped to lie for him and kept his mouth shut so the president had to pay off......

Well, it's about time!
Scooter Libby was the victim of a partisan witch hunt from the get-go. At least justice has been served now, with his reciving a pradon.

Bush had to pardon him or he was going to SING about CHENEY AND BUSH BEING INVOLVED WITH OUTING A CIA AGENT, so they could get their Iraq War going on Bogus Intel which they created.
