"Take it to the grave"

But if a man cheats...take him for all he's worth and he's the scum of the earth.

I understand that women need many lovers in their lifetime...and I accept this.

But why does it have to be the end of the world if a man cheats?

I still don't get it.

So as long as I keep my mouth shut...I guess I should be able to cheat too right?

I agree. Another thing that disturbs me is if a man cheats the answer is "he's scum, get rid of him" "once a cheater always a cheater" or "all men cheat" Not all men cheat. And men who are happy with their wives, don't cheat on their wives. When are women going to take responsibility?
btw, I am a woman (to all you women who are going to give me a bad rating...)

No, it is not ok for a woman to cheat. Cheating is the same for both sides when it comes to a marriage or committed relationship. It's a betrayal of trust.

If someone feels the need to have multiple partners, then they need to stay single, or have that agreement with their significant other long before they get into a relationship.

In fact, a man is much more likely to leave his wife if she strays than a woman is to leave her man if he cheats.

Cheating tends to be discovered sooner or later. Cheaters get careless and they are dealing with real people who don't always keep their dirty secrets. Many an other woman will tell the spouse just to get even if dumped or try to get the man to leave his marriage.

So, why live a dishonest lifestyle? Get single and play all you want if that is the life you desire.

Hmmmm...... well if you were cheated on then she isn't the right one for you. I have been married for 5 years and there have been many opportunities that both my husband and i could of cheated and we didn't. We have such a wonderful bond and we know whats at stake I couldn't imagine hurting him like that. Some women are like that and some aren't. Don't make all women to be bad. I also think what it has to do with is this double standard that people have about women. When women sleep with 5 people they are called a whore but when men do the are called a hero, so what you are doing is reversing that role because men are suppose to be that players but its the women that just played you. I guess what I'm saying is, when a guy cheats on a female its like its yeah we knew that was going to happen because of nature of males. And some females just wait for it to happen or think about it a lot, so when it happens they had all that thinking about it.Also females are more emotional its a scientific fact. I don't know if this making any sense to you but it is to me. But all in all cheaters are cheaters. I'm just trying to explain the image that the world puts on man and women.

No I dont think that anyone should cheat and I saw that question and that is stupid, I think that if you are a cheater you are the scum of the earth no matter if you are a guy or a girl and no you should not cheat and keep your mouth closed it is wrong and if you feel like you want to cheat then you are not with the person you love in my opinion, I would never cheat no matter what, not even if my husband cheated on me I would leave but not cheat, so not all girls cheat. That is just one nasty girl on here that cheated, she was only asking so she could get attention and it is stupid. I dont like cheaters.

Cheating by either gender is deplorable. Women don't need many lovers in their lifetime - my husband is more than enough for me, and I would never cheat on him. The problem is that people don't respect sex enough to keep it between them and one other person. If they did, I think there'd be a lot less cheating.

So no. It's not acceptable. Nothing about it is okay.

You have taken this to the extreme. You have made a mountain out of a molehill. Please e-read the question.
It's not OK to cheat ever. However if it was once and it was nine years ago why would you bring it up.
You are such a typical man.
PS I thought it was heartfelt that it was still bugging her after all these years. Most men don't give it a second thought at all.

I always thought of this to be the other way around. With men it's expected because they are "a man", so what else should us women expect? We should just accept it and move on because he is a man, and men are known to do that sometimes. BS! It's not okay for ANYONE to cheat, and if a woman gets caught, she is just as much a scumbag as a man.

I think cheating is cheating and it's not right no matter if it's a woman or man...If you want to be with someone else than why not just leave the person your with....It may be alot harder than it sounds but, in reality when the truth unveils thats when its becomes the most difficult....At least your won't lose your self dignity or respect as a person for betraying another...

Sort of twisted logic, bud.

Cheating is never OK, for either person.

You still have to live with yourself and look yourself in the face in the mirror.

One lover should be enough for any person, if you do things correctly.

We've always managed to keep things interesting and fun. I don't see the difficulty.

And cheating really takes the fun out of things...

Men are held to a higher standards because women are seen to need men more than men are seen to need women.

Men have traditionally been the protector/providers. If they are not protecting then they are not doing their job and are therefore useless. Its a simplistic way to see it and also wrong, but people accept the wrong answer for things every day just because they aren't willing to challenge the majority.
