What is people's perception of Vermont and Vermonters? I generally get that they are all hippies that smoke a bunch of weed and eat Ben and Jerry's and maple syrup. What do other people think about them?

I think they should not elect that socialist to the U.S. Senate.

I am a Northern New Englander, and I know a lot of Vermonters. Vermont was originally about the most conservative state in the country. There are still many straight-laced Vermonters but they have been overwhelmed by hippies and nuts from other states--especially from New York.

I lived there for awhile, I don't go with them only being hippies who smoke weed and eat B&J. There are some that do yes, but clearly not all. I was most struck by how small town it was. Remember Burlington is only about 40,000 usually a suburban city size in other states and the capital Montpelier is smallest capital in population (8,000). This really changes how people view things in the state. It definitly is one of the most liberal states in the US with a multi-term congressman who was the socialist candidate for years now serving as one of the US Senators.

Well a guy I know from vermont is very close-minded and that everyone down south are trash and everyone up north (except in vermont, of course) are troublemakers ...
You know how small towns have small minds? I think the same goes for Vermont.

The native Vermonters have been overtaken and they're now at the mercy of the left wing elitists (extreme left). It's really sad for them.
Most of them are wealthy New Yorkers and they've simply taken that state over.

Yes.
Vermont is probably the most Communist State in the Union.
But most people don't know it because they are not as loud, weird, and freaky as MA & CA.
Vermont is mostly Hippies. They probably are stinkies.
