Why do you want a nick name? I don't understand the reasoning behind naming a child at birth and then trying to "babyify" a perfectly good name with goofy diminutives.

Call the child Dylan so he knows who he is. If you are a family member, choose another name like "bubba," "spanky," or "buddy." I chose my children's names so no one could add the intimate "ie" or "y". It is offensive when total strangers call you by your childhood nick name (Yankees do this all the time; it is very annoying).
