note: While the YA Q&A format precludes any response to the posters who employ the dirty technique, I would still like to know how to counter it when it shows up elsewhere.

You respond by announcing the logic fallacy and if you are a nice guy, post the link to the fallacy so they understand why they scewed up. I do this daily here on Y.

The 'equation' assumes that asking a quesiton is wrong and therefore would produce a state of guilt. Under morality or ethics, asking a question is not wrong. Anyone professing such should be asked to prove their assumption that to ask a question about X is wrong.

this is not as simple to counter as one might suppose. first, take a whole carp of 3-4 lbs and leaving the head on gut the fish. take the whole fish, sans entrails and wear it like a hat.sit in front of the monitor and spin clockwise with your hands clasped to your ears say loudly I"M NOT HEARING YOU! I"M NOT HEARING YOU after four repetitions the damage will be undone & you can reume your life

Say, "Yeah, that's why a male doctor asks if a woman is pregnant. Because they're pregnant." or "So that's why police ask if you can identify the suspect, because they can identify the suspect themselves, right?" or some logical answer like that.
