Borrow a dog or a cat....They will sniff it out and help speed up the process! The crusty little bugger will have to be removed in order for the smell to go away quickly however if you cant the smell will eventually fade....Just a long stinky wait I know!

I have had this problem twice this year! The first time, we actually found one entangled in the wiring on the back of our stove (looked like lint, was actually a mouse!). Second time I believe it was in our heat ducts, never found that one. But the smell went away after a couple weeks, and after attaching a long hose to my vacuum hose, I did finally get what was left of him. yuck! Country living, gotta love it!! :)

I am afraid you have to find it or just wait until it dries up then it will quit smelling. Maybe get some deodorizer to cover up smell.
