I would think that there's no way to get the dead one out until the rest are born.
Think about it...you can't puncture the amniotic sac without puting the other babies at risk, you certainly can't go into labor and choose which baby comes out, and I've heard a few stories about girls having one live twin and one stillborn.
What a yucky thing to think about. I hope she is lying.

I think it would matter how far along the mother was and if the babies were fertal or idential. She is only 8 weeks so if she had one embyro die then it would be a partial miscarriage and the cells would pass through her. They would not need to do surgery to remove it. If she was later on like in her 3rd trimester I don't know what they would do.
IF she is really caring multiples then she would be gaining weight like that. I don't know if I would believe her that she is even pregnant much less that she is carrying multiples because she was obviously lying about the surgery. I was very small before I got pregnant and I only gained 3 lbs in my first trimester.

If they are faternal, they would deffiantly remove it.Some people choose to have babies removed so that they can have less (when they are haveing multiples) However, I don't know about identical quads. They may leave the dead fetus inside her just long enough for the others to develop. And then induce her.The dead fetus can cause severe infection and shock.

This actually happens alot, and they keep the baby in until delivery for the sake of the other babies. However, sometimes the dead baby will release toxins into the mother's bloodstream and this is very dangerous and they will then deliver alll the baby's immediately.

I think they'd leave it. Sometimes one twin (or multiple) dies in utero, and it is normally reabsorbed by wither the other fetuses or the woman's body. Depending on how far along she is, removing the dead fetus would be EXTREMELY risky to the other babies. They couldn't induce labor, see, and the likelihood that that particular baby would be the one positioned to be bron first would be slim. Couldn't do a c-section...nope, they'd leave it there.

It happened to someone at my work - but I am like you - I am highly doubting it. With this case, the other baby (twins) came out with some mental disorder....which was said to be caused by the dead fetus? Sounds kind of far fetched to me but....I dont know.

i have seen a situation were a lady was having septuplets and one died and that was the reason for her bleeding at 34 weeks. but they didn't say how far along the 7th was. but in this case they didn't remove it.

They wouldnt risk the lives of the other babies and would leave the one to be delivered stillborn.

Depending on how far along she is. If she is ready to deliver more than likely they will leave it there.
