since their is no D.H. in the n.L. parks shouldn't he stayed off the valot and let a real first baseman to get voted in.

Ortiz said that if the fans voted Youkilis in as well, he would give up his starting position to Youk.

But fans didn't want to write him in on the ballot, instead of leaving Ortiz completely out.

I think they should have allowed a RESERVE category for fans to select from to allow DH who share positions with other fielders, since the game is in a non-DH ballpark (NL - San Fran)

Boston submits a guy for each position at the start of the season. They elected to include Ortiz at first instead of Youk. If they would just include a DH for every all-star game it would take away this problem.

Of course, there is no DH in the National League stadium all-star game and his votes had to apply at his defensive position he has played, and that is first base.

yes he should be still on the team cause he does play 1st base and isnt too bad at it and he is a dangerous hitter regardless of him being a DH or 1st base...people want to see homeruns instead of bunts and singles...and David ortiz sure can hit homeruns....

So, he is a baseball player, end of story. If the Sox were playing in NL he would be playing 1B no matter how bad he is on defense.

I hate the All Star game, and this big sloppy getting in is another reason why.
