Lots of people are being killed these days, how do I minimize the risk? Do I keep myself to myself, not annoy people or what?

with all the terriost threats around at the moment i don't think anyone can protect them selves.
a complete stranger can attack and murder you ,there is nothing any of us can do to prevent being murdered,you just don't know what is going to happen in the future.
its a bit like saying how can i prevent being knocked down and killed by a car,you can cross safely but all it takes is for a drunk driver or a joyrider not to stop and your injured or killed

I agree with many of the answers above.
But I also believe that you should "hide" away or let "them" win as it were and stop you from living your life.
Life these days seems to be filled with some much danger in all forms that if we allow the fear of being attacked etc rule us we will end up not doing anything, not going anywhere and not saying anything.
While I don't go around acting like I am invincible and looking for trouble I also won't let the fear take over my life, I do what I want when i want as it were; or at least I try to do so with all that I can available to me.
In short don't go out of your way to do harmful things as it were and don't give in to the fear of "something could happen if I do that."

I would look at where you live. If it's a high risk high crime area move somewhere that lowers that risk. Move to somewhere where few murders happen.
Also, try not to piss anyone off through your life and avoid becoming friendly with psycho's.

If you are a woman, don't get married. Hang out with strangers. Most people are murdered by people they know. Stay inside. Don't go into bad neighborhoods or join a gang. Stay out of public buildings. That should about do it.

I dont want to scare you but stuff do happen. There are sitiuations you cant control even if you isolate yourself and dont bother anyone. You minus well just be yourself. Me as a person dont want to get murdered neither, the best I can say is dont pick a fight with people or it will increase you chances.

Anyone can be murdered...That would be just fate if it happened. You can just be nice and you won't get hurt. If you feel that this fear is taking over you and making you more anti-social, you should see a shrink. But I'm sure you'll be okay. :)

I guarantee that if you kill yourself you will never have to worry about being murdered - but then again I would never recommend such a thing

Yeah don't make people mad by insulting them or looking at them, stay away from large groups of tattooed young men, and try not to carry too much cash on you, travelers cheques are the way to go!
