The 8800 Ultra is the fastest out at the moment. However on a few select games, for whatever reason, the HD 2900 XT from ATI will outperform it, so you should probably check to see if you happen to be using some of those games, refer to the article I list.

I would say the GeForce 8800 Ultra SLI. But be warned you will need a large case for cooling, an SLI motherboard, and at least a 900W power supply to feed them.
Specs: 2 x 768MB, 384-bit, 2.2GHz
Be prepared to spend $1400 though

This is a generic answer because by the time I answer it, things will have changed, but as of now the best seems to be the cards that are using the nVidia 880 GTX chip set. Be prepared to spend big bucks on one of these, and to have the right motherboard (x16 SLI) and power supply (500W with the correct +12V connectors)

Nvidia 8800gtx is known the best type of graphic card.
Asus nVidia 8800GTX is expensive. But if you dont mind losing few fps buy galaxy 8800.
If you looking for greatest performance, then wait it is said that nVidia will release 8850 models which are sli 8800s. Giving the most performance.

Your motherboard must support nvidia-sli. Then add two high end nvidia card to motherboard connected to each other. AFAIK, this produces the best gaming experience ever.

Go Nvidea or Asus are the best in this go Gfore cards they are the best suitable for the gamin and animation applications.
