It certainly is not a health issue. Back in the day, women almost never did anything more than trim down there. Did you ever hear of a health epidemic related to an over growth of pubic hair? Quite frankly I think that leaving at least something down there makes you look like a woman and not some hairless little girl.

no you don't have to. but this stuff is good to know:
1. shaving would reduce the chances of pubic louse that's transmitted from one partner to the next. this is important in people who have multiple sexual partners.
2. But cuts caused by shaving can increase the risk of sexually transmitted diseases in the same people. pubic louse aren't that big a problem.
3. shaving increases the chances of infection down there because of frequent cuts if she's not careful or doesn't use enough shaving cream.
4. But, shaving also keeps the area clean so the chances of vaginal and cervical infections are less.
basically, follow these steps if shaving and also if not:
1. make sure you use a new, clean razor, preferably one with three or more blades.
2. be sure to use some sort of antiseptic, perhaps after-shave (but that burns!)
3. be sure to wash down there every time you bathe.
hope that helps :)

You don't have to. It's all up to the person's preference. But if you do want to get rid of the hair I stongly recommend that you do not shave, shave makes the hair grow back so thick down there it gets disgusting, and it will get to a point it won't even shave anymore. I say you invest in waxing down there which is a little pricey but it stays smoother longer and the hairs don't grow back so coarse.

I here it's cleaner but really it does not matter at all. Personally i would not shave!!! i would use some foam to eat the hair off it's not dangerous and it's a whole lot easier on the shin. I say use a foam to get rid of the hair don't shave i mean really it's not the best place to have a razor blade/clippers if you know what i mean. But really it does not matter.

you don't have to, its more of a personal preference.
personally, i, and most women i know, with a few exceptions, prefer to shave. it just feels cleaner and has less odor.
and when you become sexually active, (hopefully not for a long time since you are still in school) many men prefer it shaved because of the lack of odor, plus it just makes oral "interaction" less like licking a cat. make sense?
if you do choose to shave, the first time, make sure you first trim the hair as short as possible with scissors. then sit in a hot tub for about ten minutes, sit on the side of the tub with shaving cream, and a BRAND NEW razor, and then soak in the hot tub for another ten or fifteen minutes, pat dry, and finish with lotion.... try baby lotion or hemp lotion... or even the bikinizone stuff specially made for that area.
and hey, if you don't like it, you can always grow back.
and be prepared for the hair to feel itchy the first couple times as it grows back, and also, you may have some razor burn (just red bumps kinda like lil pimples) the first few times you shave. you reduce the risk of razor burn by soaking, using shaving cream, and a brand new razor, and with the lotion, so don't skip those steps, at least not until the skin is used to it.
good luck. any more questions, feel free to email me.

I think that its more of a preference, even more so a fad...its like fashion...lol. Um, you know, some men like it shaved, some like to have some hair, some like lots of hair, some like the racing stripe...it really all depends on the guy your with. If your not having sex...don't worry about shaving right now. Honestly, if you have a boyfriend i would just ask him how he likes it. Good luck :o)

U don't have to shave down there but if you wear certain clothes, bikini's, you will want too.
Be careful because if u shave to close u can get an ingrown or infected hair that really hurts, plus if you nick yourself that can be painful.

no one has to shave 'down there'. its a matter of preference. A lot of women shave, or wax. Some even get laser hair removal. It keeps the area clean, and smooth.
If you do decide to shave be prepared to itch! I'd recomend waxing.
But if you like your hair you dont ever have to do anything to it.

Not a requirement but it makes the mess easier to clean for "that time of the month". It also give a better groomed feeling like after you shave you legs.

No you do not have to shave down there. The hair is there for a reason. If you don't like it long, you can always trim it. It all depends on your own personal preference.
