that sounds like a really nice idea. that way you can celebrate w/ the people who care & matter, and keep it positive. and i'm sure they would appreciate knowing that they helped keep you clean & had such a good impact on you and your life! fantastic! just remember, keep it simple. enjoy the time/day, don't stress over it.
what would be even nicer is if you got them each a thank you card w/ personal sentiments in them so they can cherish it forever.
also i like the idea of doing something for yourself ... something that maybe you put off or couldn't do cause you were on drugs. make it a memorable day that you'll never forget.

I went to a meeting at the same place I had my very first NA meeting that really showed me how far I had come and I was so proud to be there to celebrate my 1 year and the best thing was being around all the people that helped me get through my first year..get everyone together that helped you through it (sponser, support group, family) and maybe invite someone that hasn't been there as long as you yet that YOU have had a positive experience on. You too have helped someone in recovery everytime you go to a meeting and they see how far you have come!! Do a potluck/BBQ/dinner something fun and enjoy your day-you deserve it you have come so far!! Make sure you do something for yourself also.

I agree with you. You need only positive influences around you, nobody or nothing that makes you remember the old times. A great dinner or even a BBQ/potluck. Good friends, good food, good music. You're awesome for staying clean. I'm sure you've realized the world is out there waiting for you and you don't need to be around poisonous people anymore. I congratulate you and wish you all the best in the future. I wish friends of mine could have wised up.

Great Job!!!!
On the 11th my husband will have 2 years!!!
I think being around positive people is the best thing right now. Maybe even hit a few meetings too.
The 1st year is one of the hardest, but like I know you have learned, it's just one day at a time.
Stay humble, listen and be willing and let go and let God
Good work!!!!

Give yourself a good pat on the back, and find something you always talked about doing, and go do it. Canoe trip is a day event that might cost $40.
