To quote Madam speaker, "Well, yeah, the Constitution is worth it if you can succeed." -Nancy Pelosi, 6/29/07.

So-is Pelosi admitting that Bush has not committed an impeachable offense? Or merely that she will protect her position as speaker at the cost of the constitution? Which is it?

I interpret it to mean that she would initiate impeachment proceedings if she thought she could succeed, despite the fact that there are no legitimate grounds. In other words it would be worth trashing the constitution if she could get away with it.

She knows first of all there are no impeachable offenses even with what the nutcase far left says and she also knows more importantly the votes are not there and the showdown would split the democratic party.

She is an egomaniac just like the president and most politicians. Which is part of the problem.

She's loony. She needs to stop listening to her advisers. She needs to start listening to a new group of centrist Dems or she's going to lose her position.
