Cano batting 3rd effectively killed Jeter and Arod, in yesterday's order... you'd think he'd just go Damon-Jeter-Arod-Posada as a core, by now... but Torre has NO IDEA how to make a lineup.

For Torre lovers.. know that he took over BUCK SHOWALTER's team (which was right there in 1995)... and hasn't won a thing in SEVEN (7) seasons running -- losing the worst postseason defeat of ALL TIME in 2004 to the Red Sox, up 3-0 due nearly wholly to his being outmanaged. Same with many other loses, like benching Sheffield vs. Kenny Rogers, not throwing Wang in the elimiation game, and batting Arod 8th (!!) which should have been an IMMEDIATE cause for his being fired.

Yeah, Joe Torre doesn't know how to manage. In baseball you need to change things up, to find what clicks. Torre undoubtedly will be gone, but I do not think it will happen during the season. I think he will finish the year, and then Joe Giardi will then become the next Yankees coach.

The Yankees won't fire him for a couple reasons. One being all those World Series they won with him. I know Buck Showalter built that team, he also built the D-backs team that won the WS the year after he got fired. However, people don't think about things that way. Second, Jeter always speaks out on his behalf in the media. I do think Torre is just overrated and was in the right place at the right time. People should remember that before he took over the Yanks, he was known as Clueless Joe.

I couldn't agree with you more. I mean, just because Torre has managed the Yankees into 10 playoffs in 10 years ... four World Series championships ... who does he think he is? He does know anymore baseball than Jim Leyland or Tony LaRussa. I can't believe the Yankees are gonna hold on to this guy and not let some newbie come in and take the team right down the toilet.

there are two problems.
1-who else would want the job?
2-who else is available to take the job?
this is the same discussion that they've had for a while now. is mattingly the heir apparent? if so, is he ready? isn't he playing a role in what's going on right now as well?
i think they need a new staff, but i don't think doing it mid season is a good move for this team. they have a lot of powerful vets who will not be happy if torre is gone.

Believe it or not, It's not Joe Torre's fault they are losing, Last time I checked the players play the game.
I'm a red sox fan, and If I was a yankees fan, I don't see how you can put the blame on Torre, he manages what Cashman buys and he can't help it.

Gee, I don't know.
4 World Series win in 11 full season with the Yankees
Playoff birth every year
6 World Series appearences in 11 full years
over 1,000 wins
4 100 win years
over .500 every year
Worst season- .540 winning percentage
He should be out by the end of the year

They will. Its just a mtter of time. It could come at the break. I questioned his managing skills when he let Proctor finish the ninth and walk in the game winning run a few games ago. Where was Mo?

Because the yankees have gotten used to losing, and they like it.
They like it so much it will continue for 30 years in a row.
