Can "Baker" be a boy's first name?

It's pretty trendy to have family names as a first name. I know boys named: Conner, Parker, Bates, Wright, Emery, Hollis, all are family names. If I thought about it I could probably come up with more. Baker is an unusual first name, but I kind of like how it sounds. Besides, lots of guys I know in high school call each other by their last name anyway so I don't think it would sound odd at all.

Baker sounds like a boys name and it is also cute. So I think it could be a boys first name. But before naming anyone Baker check if it sounds good with his middle name and his last name.

I think Baker is a nice and unique boy's name. I know of a guy named Baker, and he was quite popular in school and handsome.

Personally, I don't think it is. You could do something like :

John-Baker Wellman
OR use Baker as the middle name

It is "old fashioned" and might be better suited as a middle name.
if you do choose Baker for the first name try a more common name as the middle to give your son something to fall back on if he decides he dislikes his name.
