It's completely obviously that the attorneys at my job have favorites. This is what I am mad about. Every six months, every employee is supposed to have a 6 month review. The purpose of the review is to discuss your job performance. The majority of the time a raise is given at that review. Well, it's been 4 months passed my 6 months and I still haven't gotten a review. But, my attractive co-worker, who the attorney's adore, just had her review today. Also, this same co-worker got a 1 year anniversary party whereas other co-workers that have worked here over a year didn't get a party. I can give more examples of favoritism, but I probably sound bitter. But I am so mad, I am thinking about quitting.

You can't really do something about them having a party for someone who has only been there for a year. It might seem unfair, and it might be unfair, but it isn't against the law.
You should go and talk to your supervisor and request your review. Remind him/her that your 6 months have already passed. Really, you should have requested your review earlier, because if they give out a raise it is worth it to get the review done.
Do your job and stop worrying about favoritism. I've been the boss, and it didn't matter which personality I liked the best, if he didn't get the work done on time and with a good attitude, he didn't make the cut. The person who I didn't get along with personally, but who did her work was the person who kept her job in the long run.

Have you asked them to allow you a review? If they just haven't gotten around to it, ask them for a raise if you feel you deserve one. I am biased though, I don't believe in quitting jobs unless I am jumping into another one immediately. Why should you be unemployed just because they have favorites?

Ultimately, as a minority in corporate America, trust me, favoritism exists, and it kinda sucks, but ALL my bills are paid and ultimately, I am always a step or 2 ahead. For my salary, if they asked me to mop the floor I would do it until I found something else. I have also accepted that it is ok to not go to a job I love everyday, because no matter how perfect a job is, something small can ruin it from that day forth.

You can remind your supervisor that you are overdue for a review. In the meantime you should update the resume and discreetly look for a better work situation. Keep a positive outlook even in the face of this obvious favoritism.

Good luck.

Don't quit. Stand up for your rights. There are ways to point this out. Ask for your review also. The squeaky wheel gets the oil.

then quit. There is nothing in law which requires a review, a party or them patting your behind as they leave the office.

This is petty and not worthy of discussion.

I would quit if I were you. If they are so blatant about breaking the rules, you will have no future there anyway. Life is too short to be this unhappy or put up with their juvenile behavior. Good luck on your job search, you'll probably do better.
