Is it a windshield washer fluid stain on your paint??
Or a hard water stain on your windshield?

If it's a windshield washer fluid stain on the paint, I would try a product like Tetrosyl T-cut.

If it's a hard water stain on your windshield, I would use acetone to remove surface oil and dirt. Then white vinegar to remove the mineral deposits from the pours in the glass.

I will assume you are talking about the hard water stains or rings of white that appear on your windshield? If so, then I use toothpaste and a rag to clean it. Just plain simple white toothpaste. It has enough cleaners to take care of the film and residue from oils and hard water. Once the windshield has been rinsed and dried, then I like to apply a coat of RainX to seal and protect the glass. You can run without your windshield wipers as long as you are at speed.

Bartenders Friend... a cleanser that LOOKS like Comet.. but is NOT harsh. It is used by a lot of auto restorers to clean and polish windshields/windows. Works wonders to get long term road grime off the windshield.

Hard water spots can be removed by automotive glass cleaner or bug and tar remover.
