Good Job Marianne D and Musical Chic. Both have some GREAT suggestions!!!
Also, you can try out www.stageagent.com/audition_songs for some good suggestions.
I guess the main thing to keep in mind is you don't want to do something too overdone so Les Miz is kinda off limits unless you can really embrace everything that is that character and make that casting director believe you are the best actor in the world. Also Anthem from Chess and... well, yahoo search overdone audition songs and you'll see what I mean.
main thing, be a little different because we like those things but make it work for YOU!!!

I'd go with a version of "Hear My Prayer" from Les Miserables. Not sure what part it is written for in the play, but we did a version in my highschools chorus and its beautiful. Granted our version was an SATB arrangement, but I'm sure there are tenor versions available. I would also look into "Music of the Night" or other songs by the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera. It was released on DVD a few years ago for more reference. I think the other songs are atleast duets but you might be able to work something out there also. Hope this helps a little.

Empty Chairs at Empty Tables- Marius (Les Miserables)
Bring Him Home- Jean Val Jean (Les Miserables)
Honestly Sincere- Conrad Birdie (Bye Bye Birdie)
Music of the Night- The Phantom (Phantom of the Opera)
Both Les Miserables songs are very moving and powerful, making many people sad, but are incredibly beautiful songs.
Honestly Sincere isn't as moving, but is good.
Music of the Night is one of my favorites, probably because I got to see it sung by three actual phantoms...

"Corner of the Sky" from Pippen (by Stephen Schwartz) is a great one. If your voice is unchanged, you might want to try "How Did We Come To This?" from The Wild Party (by Andrew Lippa).
Also, there are some really good collections of songs just for tenors called "The Singer's Musical Theatre Anthology". You can find them here:
