I like Zach Randolph and I think he's a Really Good player but I'm still a little Skeptible on the the Knicks making it to the Playoffs next Season, I mean It's been proven Just because you Have a team full of star players doesn't mean they're going to win a Championsip Chemistry Beats everything else If a Team doesn't have Good Chemistry It's a complete waste of time and money. We've seen the Knix stack up on alot of Really good Basketball players but yet they Still can't make it to the Playoffs, Know don't get me wrong Randolph is one Hell of a player but I'm not sure if he can Lead a team into the playoffs, but we'll all just have to see next season.

The Knicks actually did a good trade here. Despite popular opinion this trade has improved the teams chances of being in the playoffs next season. They almost got into the playoffs with a mediocre squad last season! They got an all-star player and gave up a good role player (Channing Frye) and a big money contract player (Steve Francis). Knicks already had too many guards on that team. They got another team to pay for his remaining 34 million dollars, that's a big win in my opinion. If coached right, look for the Knicks to make some noise this upcoming season. And it doesn't hurt that they play in the Eastern Conference.

In the long term, they won't win with Zach. Let's keep in mind that he hasn't done too much winning in his young career. Having said that, the Knicks can sneak into the playoffs albeit a weak and basically open season 6th, 7th and 8th spots in the East. I would think that they would consider trying to move Zach in hopes of landing Kevin Garnett or Rashard Lewis. I would try to work out a trade with Minnesota to send Zach Randolph, Crawford and David Lee for Garnett. This would solve some issues on both sides I think. The Knicks are in dying need of a star attraction because if you're not going to win, you might as well give the fans the illusion that you're trying. For the Wolves, it gives them another opportunity to make a potentially great player out of David Lee. The Western Conference would be a great place to find out whether David Lee is a "Man" or a boy.

I think the Knicks will definitely be playoff contenders next season with a set front-line, Zach Randolph & Eddy Curry, and plenty of scoring on the perimeter; and the fact that they're playing in the Eastern Conference doesn't hurt them too bad either.

Yes and no. The trade will help the Knicks sneak into the playoffs but it doesn't address many weakness they already have. They get more inside scoring and rebounding but they still have no defense and don't improve on their level of team play. Randolph and Curry are not great passing big men nor do they play defense. Marbury will have to get everyone involved and outside of him, no one else on the team has the heart or ability to pass the ball.

Yo beak41,

i think the trade was a good move mainly because of the getting rid of Steve Francis' fat-contract...

Zach is a solid 20-10 guy if he can stay out of the clubs and getting in trouble...

It's a risk worth taking -- i think Channing Frye's potential is tapped out- and getting rid of Francis' contract allows you to bring in someone who would help the Knicks more than Francis so in the long-run it's a worthwhile trade and if Randolph stays out of trouble it's a steal...

Nickster

the knicks were in need of a quality big man and they got one in randolph, they also got rid of one of their many guards, this team will get into the playoffs but wont be one of the best in the east

The deal was def worth it. He can certainly help the knicks, but with their current team, he won't be able to do it alone. Marbury, Curry, Lee would all need an awesome season. They are contenders for the playoffs though...

Maybe, if Zach gets enough touches. He was the main offensive guy in Portland, now he has to share with Curry down low.
