If you want it done, go for it, if your HUSBAND want's it done, tell HIM to have HIS done!!!
the whole 'will it hurt thing?'
No it doesn't, if you pinch your skin on your forearm between your fingers hard for 5 seconds, that's about as painful as it is.
It is a bit bizarre watching a metal needle being pushed through your nipple,
It bleeds slightly, maybe a cotton bud tip amount
Make sure you do check out the cleanliness etc of the place your going to go to, and if they have a licence or some kind of certification (after all no-one wants a crooked piercing right?)
It does swell slightly afterwards and it stays like that for a day or so, you might find it easier to sleep in your bra for the first few days, but it is essential that you keep it clean, and use antibacterial soaps etc 2-3 times a day.
If your going to have a ring, I think they are easier to keep clean, but you do get a kind of "sleep" (for want of a better word) at either side that needs to be cleansed daily, as if the ring turns and that slides into your nipple HELLO!!!!!!!
All of that sounds quite negative but if you really want it done and you like having your nipples played with quite roughly or sucked quite roughly, you'll love the feeling afterward, the intensity is increased big time!!!
Also, when it goes cold and your nipples contract, only you will know why your smiling!!!
Good luck :o)

I have played around with this idea and asked my doctor in that silly way...you know...Doctor, my 'friend' wants to get a nipple ring...lol! He said that we have tiny tiny milk ducts in our nipples to feed babies. When you pierce your nipples you don't decrease your capacity for breast feeding in any way. The only worrisome thing is if you don't keep a ring in and the hole keeps closing and you keep getting pierced, you may lose sensation or damage the tissue a lot. Other than that it's a sharp pain, you have to stay hygienic and you will love it! Let me know if you get it and how it feels.

this will hurt a bit. the healing is pretty easy (sea salt soaks and washing it antimicrobial soap 2 times a day). it can be a tricky place to heal sometimes though because it will rub up against your bra all the time. the other thing to consider is if you have innie or outie nipples. outies are easier to pierce. do not touch the piercing or let anyone else handle it or get their bodily fluids on it for the initial healing time. on last thing. if you are getting this because your hubby wants you to, DON"T DO IT! if you want one then go for it but get any type of body mod because of someone else will result in you hating sooner or later.

I have both of mine done and ive had them for about 2 years now...for me it wasnt painful at all...but i hear from about every other person that it hurt like hell! And im gonna warn you that a few days after you get it done its going to feel like you've been hit by a truck! I dont regret getting mine done, and dont listen to the people that tell you it affects breast feeding...if its pierced right you wont have a problem. But also, make sure its something you want done as well as your hubby and not just him!

You can expect to have troubles breastfeeding if you have children in the future. But if that's not a concern for you - just be absolutely sure to find someone who is experienced and scrupulous about sterility when performing the piercing. Afterwards - you have to be super dedicated to keeping that piercing clean and infection free - not easy to do when you are wearing a bra all day. The friction from the fabric can make the tissue very irritated and more prone to infection.
