If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Editing websites with poor spelling. Even with spell-check things can go terribly wrong. That's why a PR guy was fired. His news headline read "Pubic" instead of "Public."
Some sites I would hope you could establish a good rapport and get paid to help them edit.
If you are a decent writer, try writing editorials. They are your opinions. Some newspapers pay for those and request that you submit weekly or monthly. It's a little pay, but a good start for establishing yourself.
Selling things you already have and are ready to part with, sell them on E-bay or similar site. It gets you something. You do have to travel to the post office or have them pick up at your door.
Wake-up service. It's not an online thing, but you can program your computer to alert you for times you need to take action.
Of course that involves marketing, which doesn't always cost money, if you write a news release about your service. Then, it's a news article and not an ad. Free. Free is good.
When I used a wake-up service, they told me what time it was, how the roads were; take an umbrella or allow extra time for snow and slow traffic. I got a 10 minutes later snooze call too for no additional charge.
You know, you could try a sort of tour thing in your area--in a way it hasn't been done. I know that where I live, a sports tour would go over real well. So would a birding tour. Do those things exist here? Heck no!
So, what can you do where you live?
Write up, promote and get clients online who when traveling will meet you at the tour destination you'll be telling them all about along the real-life tour. Have a set minimum of people required for these tours. Like no less than 7 or something.
That's all I can think of, unless you already know web design.
Know yourself and go from there.
Are you limiting yourself by saying "online" job? I don't know.
Get a tax number and start promoting and earning. Get some of those free business cards which are available online. Look it up. It's legit. I think you get 50. A few friends have done that successfully. Some got gigs, some presented workshops in their area of expertise.
Okay, one more: help write love letters or something like that.
I wrote so much here, pardon if I don't spell-check. Sometimes that takes forever and I lose all I wrote. What a waste then, eh?

Hi AG
I am not quite surewhat type of "work from home" you are looking at but yes, some are scams and you must use caution.
To help me after my divorce where I am disabled and unable to work I decided that for kicks and giggles that I wanted to sell something on ebay. I walked thru my house picked this or that and then listed them as auction items...They actuall sold, I almost died! Seriously!
So now I walked thru the house again, listed a few things some sold, some didn't but oh how exciting, fun, easy...I now own my own ebay store, have branched out locally and do in home parties, and I will be opening an independent web site store all by myself.
Many mistakes were made, many will be made I think for me it is a learn as you go deal. But I have no degree in business except when I am in Bipolar Mania and have a 5 or 6 month shopping spree! That is the extent of my business knowledge. My base background is in medicine.
At any rate, don't just jum in and throw it ll to chance, I did because I was again in a Bipolar mania and extreme risk taking is a part of that mania. LUCY for me it all worked out. Please investigate any venture, learn the pro's con's and in betweens (prons?) :) Just make sure that it it does not work out that you have a few things for support.
Hey it didn't work so let me look see what went wrong and fix it if I can and try again.
Hey, it didn't work out but that is ok. I tried it, found it wasn't for me so I will look at something else as to worrk from home because there are so many choices out there today.
Ok, it didn't work out and I feel stupid and a failure...LOOK FOR SUPPORT for yourself at this point it is important
And just keep trying things and one time something will work for you with no effort at all and that may be the direction you may want to look into more.
These are just my thoughts, no degree's behind them, just thoughts.
Be safe and be well

There are lots of SCAMS about home based JOBS on the net. So, don’t join any program which asks you for an initial payment. I have helped many people on the net to make money online, without investing even a single $. Its a legitimate way to earn money. http://blog.360.yahoo.com/blog-A5k9CVA2eqgxzUQSQjmT4UHv

I agree. Most things that sound too good to be true are scams. Somebody will "thumbs down" me just because I said this. Those people don't want you to know about the scam they're a part of.

I don't know of any work from home businesses where you don't have to pay any money. I'm sure they are out there but in most cases, you get what you pay for. Rather than thinking about how much or how little it cost, consider other important issues like whether or not it is a legit business opportunity, if they compensation is good, and how long have they been in business.

Well it's possible, but it's not easy like people would have you believe.
And it will take a lot of time:
- to research good markets
- come up with something that will sell
- market and sell
- deliver.
All of these things are easier with a few bucks. But money invested does not guarantee success.
The best place to start is an inventory of your skills, knowledge, preferences, interests. What and who do you know?

I found the coolest work at home job. You don't work for anybody. Check out expotv.com Its pretty cool, what you do is make video ratings of products in your home like cereal and you upload it to their site, you make money on them. The nice part is that you dont spend any money at all..ever!!! Unless you dont have a camera. You make $5 for each video rating you submit and $0.01 each time someone views it.
