I take it the division doesn't have the weight limits like the old WCW cruiserweight division or the WWE lightweight/cruiserweight division.
If your a heavyweight your supposed to be a lightweight wrestler. I thought the X division belt was just for the small guys.
That would be like Triple H or some other heavyweight in WWE being the cruiserweight champion. This is one good thing they had that WWE didn't (because they never use the small guys right), but now they are messing up the purpose of the X title having a heavyweight as the champion.

Samoa Joe held the X Division Championship because the X Division Title isn't just for cruiserweights. It's "no limits, not weight limits." Anyone is able to participate for the X Division Title; it's mainly just cruiserweight-type wrestlers.

The main reason he has the title now is that TNA wants him in the main event at Victory Road in a Match of Champions. Right now, Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe are partners and are scheduled to face Team 3-D or another team.
Samoa Joe is capable of putting good matches on with X-Division stars. He is capable of high-flying, though his moves consist of technical holds. Samoa Joe may be a heavyweight, but the X Division has no limits.

Its not about Weight Limits, Its about No Limits... and you can watch the Best of Samoa Joe... Watch the Unbreakable AJ Styles vs Christopher Daniels vs Samoa Joe.. Joe can fly just like the other X Division stars. He was Unstoppable for so long when he entered tna.

at their next payper view the main event is where all their champions are in a tag team match, so TNA had samoa Joe win the X-division championship so that he could be involved in the match.
